ABOUT TERENCE
Terence was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a Barrister-at-Law (Inner Temple) in 1995 and to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor in 1997. He commenced his legal career in two of Singapore’s largest law firms, where he assisted various Senior Counsel and also acted independently in a wide variety of challenging and contentious commercial matters, at trials in court, as well as before local and international arbitration forums.
Terence accumulated substantial commercial experience and acumen. He has held various senior-level executive positions in listed and multinational entities in South East Asia and North America and been involved in mergers, acquisitions, divestments, asset management, development, finance and a wide range of commercial strategy related issues. Terence has been a real estate investment banker representing various European institutional funds in Thailand; has headed up the investment and development division of a listed Malaysian real estate conglomerate; and has been managing director of top tier multinational hotel and hospitality groups. Terence was also co-founder and director of three multiple award winning food, beverage and hospitality groups in South East Asia, all of which he has divested in order to return to his true passion, the practice of law. Terence was educated in England and brings with him a wealth of experience, honed over the last two decades whilst living in the United Kingdom, North America, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and his native Singapore

PRACTICE AREAS
Terence’s forte is in his ability to provide expedient, considered and pragmatic advice on a wide variety of commercial and civil matters, particularly so in the areas of joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, development, construction, restructuring, contract, management agreements, employment, real estate, landlord and tenant, debt recovery, insolvency, defamation and the resolution of shareholder and corporate disputes. Terence is also developing a burgeoning practice in the areas of civil fraud and crime and is an active member of the Law Society’s Criminal Legal Aid and Ad Hoc Pro Bono Referral Schemes. Terence has experience in the conduct of interlocutory matters, trials and appeals. He has also been engaged to conduct commercial negotiations and advise on the resolution of disputes on behalf of clients and conflicting parties.
